Default some missions easier exploreable

i dont know if more missions have this, but since they screwed up... i mean changed teleporting into shadow step, dunes of despair's extra exploreable is impossible to explore anymore, same with frost gate's part where rurik is

so what about this:
make a small hill going down in dunes, and maybe for frost gate its impossible, so make the 100% smaller by 0.1% or something (if you cant go back anymore to walk there)

(and of course making proph missions exploreable with all doors open would help, and would be fun in general, but i made that topic long ago) (sry for part offtopic)

i dont care if teleport would help people to do stuff faster, but taking away 1 whole exploreable area (probably more parts), is really a bad move against the general (non-elitism) part of the community, and may make GW die earlier

whats going on with the current live team anyway? what do they think all of a sudden?
i wont go to GW2 only cuz of the team doing stupid stuff to GW, it may only make me leave

well, i hope they reconsider, and either change it back, or give us something like this, to keep people who STILL play GW, stay for some longer

Making missions zones explorable after completion would go a long way to fixing cartography problems. For that matter, arenas should be explorable too. Just have an NPC standing by the gate of any area so people can go in.

Can't you still explore the extra bit in Dunes of Despair? Just have to wait for the bridges to drop, don't you?

I agree with the Frost Gate though, Why they made an area that you had to use an "exploit" to map is beyond me.

You don't have to use exploits. You never needed to map that area. If you map diligently enough you can get 100% without ever having to step into Talus Chute. That's how much leeway there is. Furthermore, titles weren't added until Factions so having meaningfully large chunks of map not accessible to players was not an issue. It wasn't a design decision (like with Urgoz) as you imply. I never bother with exploits and maxing the title is not difficult, especially with TexMod (which probably reduced the difficulty much more than Frost Gate did anyway).

I agree with Dunes though. Perhaps that area on the side was meant to be a novelty for explorers or something. The best way to handle it is probably to require the player to speak to the Ghostly Hero after the timer expires rather than having the mission end automatically. The bonus would need to be tweaked though to prevent players from completing it afterwards. Perhaps have them flee (either despawn immediately or head to a far off point on the map) or just mark the bonus as failed (not sure if that's possible).

that part bothers me from the whole community left (of what i see alot)

use texmod to make exploring easier (even though i heard its hard even with texmod, last few bits)
use pvx to get through the game, just dont make own builds (while GW IS based on your own builds, not on copying them all time... even though anet did nerf skills cuz of just that)

the problem is, that if you play GW as you normally play a game (no texmod, no pvx all time... or even just for harder bits), you'd face more problems, and the game should be losing those

this exploit never hurt anyone, otherwise it'd be gone +2 years ago, or so, when anet really showed themselves (john stumme with 7 hero, embark etc) and did something for the community

if you kill a nont bad or even good part of the game, give something similar back (exploreable area for missions in proph, a small hill to walk off to the parts you cant reach now, or make it NOT count for carto title, so reduce the amount)

most important: dont blame other stuff like 3rd party (texmod) or sites where people send others all time, instead of helping em out, or create other builds (pvx and normal wiki), for the "easy" parts of the game

i bet nothing became better cuz of this update, all i see now is that people become angry, as anet wasted their time and resources on an unneeded change, and for some it was a nicer way to play GW

anyway, i love it that people like proph missions to be exploreable (that way we dont need to hurry and take our time) (too bad that old topic died...), and that anet either undoes what they caused, or put up some hills or so to get us there

lets hope anet will listen now, as it may be critical times for them, with people disliking GW2 massively, and wanting GW better

also 1 offtopic part: anet doesnt want GW to die..... they'd lose a LOT for GW2 too, like resources and fans

I was stuck at 98.9% explored in Prophecies for almost 2 years. I broke down and downloaded Texmod. When I loaded the map, I found many areas that I had thought I had scraped, but somehow missed pieces everywhere. I had managed to get a small piece of the area around the bonus in Dunes before dieing, but most of it was untouched. After picking up most of the slivers here and there, I did not need the area in Dunes.

A couple of weeks ago, a guild mate and I used the Nec Travel to get his Bonus and map Dunes on another of my characters. Tried to use the same trick to help another guild mate a couple days ago and could not get a spawn close enough to try it.
